    📌DEFINITION:

    🔸Arbuda Chikitsa refers to the therapeutic management of Arbudha — a hard, immovable, rounded, and deep-seated swelling caused by aggravated Doshas leading to abnormal tissue proliferation (Granthi-like but larger and more severe).


    📌DRUGS USED

    🔸Kanchanara

    🔸Guggulu

    🔸Haridra

    🔸Triphala

    🔸Shilajatu

    🔸Manjishta

    🔸Tulasi

    🔸Varuna

    🔸Punarnava

    🔸Daruharidra


    📌PROCEDURE:

    1. Shodhana Chikitsa (Purification):

    🔸Virechana (purgation)

    🔸Raktamokshana (bloodletting)

    🔸Vamana (emesis) in Kapha-dominant Arbudha

    2. Shamana Chikitsa (Palliative)

    🔸Use of Kanchanara Guggulu, Triphala Guggulu, and Haridra Khanda

    🔸Application of Lepa (herbal paste) externally — using Haridra, Manjishta, Guggulu

    🔸Use of Rasayana drugs like Shilajatu, Amalaki Rasayana

    3. Shastra Karma (Surgical):

    🔸When the Arbudha is well-localized, surgical excision is advised under Śalyatantra guidelines


    📌INDICATED DISEASES

    🔸Granthi

    🔸Arbuda (Mamsarbuda, Medoarbuda, etc.)

    🔸Vidradhi

    🔸Galaganda

    🔸Gulma

    🔸Apachi


    📌MUST BE AVOIDED IN:

    🔸Weak, cachectic, or emaciated patients (Durbala Rogi)

    🔸Patients with severe anemia (Pandu, Kshaya)

    🔸Ulcerated, suppurative, or infected Arbudha

    🔸During pregnancy (Garbhini)

    🔸When Dosha is not stabilized (no proper Avastha)


    📌PRECAUTIONS:

    🔸Perform Shodhana only after assessing Rogi Bala and Roga Bala

    🔸Avoid excessive Agni Deepana in Pitta-dominant conditions

    🔸Regular monitoring for recurrence

    🔸Maintain aseptic condition during surgical intervention

    🔸Use Rasayana post-treatment to prevent relapse
