    📌DEFINITION

    🔸Kaya Lepa Chikitsa is an Ayurvedic external therapeutic procedure in which medicated herbal paste (lepa) is applied over the entire body (kaya) or specific parts for therapeutic and cosmetic benefits.
    🔸It helps in detoxification, nourishment, and rejuvenation of the skin and underlying tissues.


    📌 DRUGS USED

    🔸Chandana

    🔸Ushira

    🔸Manjishta

    🔸Haridra

    🔸Kumkuma

    🔸Nimba

    🔸Lodhra

    🔸Sariva

    🔸Triphala

    🔸Multani mitti

    🔸Tulasi


    📌 PROCEDURE

    1. Purva Karma (Pre-procedure):

    🔸Patient assessment and selection of suitable lepa.

    🔸Mild oil massage or fomentation if needed.

    2. Pradhana Karma (Main procedure):

    🔸Prepare fresh lepa by mixing powdered herbs with suitable liquid (like milk, rose water, or decoction).

    🔸Apply evenly over the body or affected part in the direction opposite to hair follicles.

    🔸Allow it to remain till semi-dry or prescribed time.

    3. Paschat Karma (Post-procedure):

    🔸Gently remove lepa with lukewarm water.

    🔸Light oil application may follow.

    🔸Rest and avoid exposure to cold or wind.

    🔸Pama (Eczema)

    🔸Vicharchika (Dermatitis)

    🔸Sidhma (Tinea versicolor)

    🔸Switra (Leucoderma)

    🔸Pidaka (Acne)

    🔸Shotha (Inflammation)

    🔸Daha (Burning sensation)

    🔸Twak vaivarnya (Discoloration of skin)


    📌MUST BE AVOIDED IN

    🔸Severe Vata disorders

    🔸Open wounds or ulcers

    🔸Hypersensitive skin

    🔸Fever or chills

    🔸During menstruation (if full-body lepa)

    🔸Very weak or emaciated persons


    📌PRECAUTIONS

    🔸Always use freshly prepared lepa.

    🔸Avoid excessive drying or cooling.

    🔸Test small area for allergy before full application.

    🔸Use suitable temperature and consistency based on dosha.

    🔸Prevent exposure to cold air or dust immediately after treatment.
