    📌DEFINITION

    🔸Kunkumadi Taila Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic external therapy where Kuṅkumādi Taila (a medicated oil containing saffron and other herbs) is massaged over the body or specific parts for cosmetic enhancement, rejuvenation, and relief from certain diseases.


    📌DRUGS USED

    📌PROCEDURE

    1. Purva Karma (Preparation):

    🔸Patient is made to sit/lie comfortably.

    🔸Oil is slightly warmed.

    2. Pradhana Karma (Main Procedure):

    🔸Warm Kuṅkumādi Taila is applied over face, neck, or whole body depending on indication.

    🔸Gentle, rhythmic massage with palms and fingertips.

    🔸Duration: 20–30 minutes.

    3. Paschat Karma (After Procedure):

    🔸Oil left on skin for 30–60 minutes.

    🔸Followed by warm water bath or cleansing with herbal powders.


    📌INDICATED DISEASES

    🔸Mukhadoṣa (facial blemishes)

    🔸Vaivarṇya (discoloration)

    🔸Vraṇa Vastu (scar marks)

    🔸Vāta-pitta skin disorders

    🔸Daruṇaka (dandruff)

    🔸Twak Roga (skin diseases)

    🔸Mukhakāntihāni (loss of glow


    📌MUST BE AVOIDED IN

    🔸Atisnigdha Twak (excessively oily skin)

    🔸Severe Kaphaja roga (kapha-dominant conditions)

    🔸Skin infections with pus discharge

    🔸Fever, indigestion, diarrhea

    🔸Allergy to ingredients (saffron, sesame oil, etc.)


    📌PRECAUTIONS

    🔸Always test for allergy (patch test).

    🔸Avoid exposure to dust, sunlight, cold wind immediately after procedure.

    🔸Use mild lukewarm water for cleansing (not hot).

    🔸Not advised in acute illness or during menstruation (if whole-body Abhyanga).

    🔸Oil should be used fresh and properly stored.
