    📌DEFINITION:

    🔸Sthanya Dhusthi Chikitsa refers to the treatment aimed at purifying and restoring the quality of vitiated breast milk (Sthanya) caused by doshic imbalance in lactating women.


    📌DRUGS USED

    🔸Shatavari

    🔸Vidari

    🔸Yashtimadhu

    🔸Musta

    🔸Patha

    🔸Triphala

    🔸Punarnava

    🔸Guduchi

    🔸Gokshura

    🔸Katuki


    📌 PROCEDURE:

    1. Nidana Parivarjana – Avoid causative factors (Ahara, Vihara, Manasika).

    2. Shodhana Chikitsa – If suitable, perform mild Vamana or Virechana according to dosha involvement.

    3. Shamana Chikitsa – Use dosha-specific decoctions or ghritas to normalize milk.

    4. Ahara Pathya – Advise light, easily digestible, and dosha-balancing diet.

    5. Sthanya Shodhana Dravya – Administration of drugs which purify breast milk.

    6. Stanya Punarjanana – After purification, galactagogue (Stanyajanana) drugs may be given to restore quality and quantity.


    📌 INDICATED DISEASES 

    🔸Stanya dushti (breast milk vitiation)

    🔸Balroga due to impure milk

    🔸Mastitis

    🔸Galactorrhea

    🔸Hypogalactia


    📌 MUST BE AVOIDED IN:

    🔸During active fever (Jwara)

    🔸Severe weakness or dehydration

    🔸After recent delivery (within few days)

    🔸During heavy bleeding (Rakta srava)

    🔸In infectious mastitis or abscess until infection subsides


    📌 PRECAUTIONS IN TREATMENT:

    🔸Assess dosha predominance before treatment.

    🔸Avoid strong shodhana in debilitated women.

    🔸Maintain hydration and nutrition during treatment.

    🔸Ensure regular feeding intervals for the infant.

    🔸Avoid incompatible diet (Viruddhahara).
