JUSTIFICATION OF THE IMPORTANCE OF RITUCHARYA :
тАШRituтАЩ means season; тАШCharyaтАЩ means regimen or routine.
Ritucharya refers to the seasonal regimen to maintain physical and mental health.
Ayurveda emphasizes following a specific lifestyle and diet during each season to balance doshas and prevent diseases.
The bodyтАЩs doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) undergo accumulation (Sanchaya), aggravation (Prakopa), and pacification (Shamana) due to seasonal variations.
Ritucharya helps to maintain equilibrium of doshas, thereby preserving health and preventing disease.
Kapha dosha accumulates in Shishira, aggravates in Vasanta, pacifies in Grishma.
Pitta dosha accumulates in Varsha, aggravates in Sharad, pacifies in Hemanta.
Vata dosha accumulates in Grishma, aggravates in Varsha, pacifies in Sharad.

This cycle forms the basis of Ritucharya, dictating which dosha needs to be controlled in which season.
I. PREVENTIVE ASPECT:
Seasonal changes are inevitable and affect Agni (digestive fire) and doshas.
Ritucharya aims to prevent seasonal disorders by taking proactive care.
For example, in Vasanta Ritu, due to Kapha aggravation, one must avoid heavy, sweet, oily foods and perform Vamana (emesis) for dosha expulsion.

II. CURATIVE AND THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT:
Following Ritucharya also supports faster recovery in disease conditions by keeping the body prepared and resilient.
III. PROMOTES HEALTHY IMMUNITY (BALA):
Adaptation to seasonal changes enhances Ojas and Bala, improving the body's natural defense mechanisms.

Agni, Bala (strength), and Dosha balance are all influenced by Kala (time/season) тАУ Hence, seasonal alignment of activities is necessary.
Ignoring seasonal routines leads to dosha vitiation, weak digestion, and seasonal illnesses.
Example: Continuing Kapha-aggravating food in Vasanta leads to allergies, congestion, indigestion, etc.
