    TYPES

    1. PANCHALOHA KHARALEEYA

      • Made from five basic metals (panchaloha): gold, silver, copper, iron, and lead.

    2. SINGLE METAL KHARALEEYA

      • Made from one metal, typically gold or silver, for more specific therapeutic uses.

    3. BHOOTADI KHARALEEYA

      • Prepared using metals with added substances derived from natural sources like plants or minerals.


    PROCEDURE

    • The raw metals or minerals are purified by specific processes, such as shodhana (purification) and marana (calcination).

    • These substances are then processed with bhasma (ash) or other appropriate substances.

    • A combination of Kalka (paste) of herbs and Swarasa (juice) may be added for improved efficacy.

    • The final preparation is subjected to Paka (cooking) under controlled heat and conditions until it attains the desired consistency.


    NECESSARY EQUIPMENT

    • Homa Kund: A small, controlled fire-pit used in the purification process.

    • Bhachak: A vessel used for grinding and preparing pastes.

    • Shilajit: A stone used to grind and purify the metals.

    • Vessel for calcination: Used to heat and process the raw metals.

    • Mortar and Pestle: For grinding raw ingredients into fine powders or pastes.


    SHELF LIFE

    • Kharaleeya Rasayana has a limited shelf life, which can vary depending on the preparation method and storage conditions.

    • Typically, when stored in airtight containers in cool, dry places, it can last from 1 to 3 years without losing its efficacy.

    • Exposure to moisture and air should be avoided to prevent degradation of the Rasayana.
