Satmya is a key concept in Ayurveda that refers to the "wholesomeness" or "suitability" of substances (Ahara, Vihara, and Aushadha) for a particular individual. It plays a crucial role in maintaining health and preventing diseases. The term Satmya is derived from the root "Sat" (good) and "Mya" (measured or considered), meaning what is agreeable or suitable to oneтАЩs constitution.
Satmya is that which is compatible, agreeable, and non-harmful to the body and mind when consumed or practiced regularly.
It varies according to Desha (habitat), Kala (time/season), Prakriti (body constitution), Ahara (diet), Vihara (lifestyle), and Abhyasa (habit).
