📌DEFINITION
🔸Anjanam is a classical Ayurvedic Netra Kriyākalpa procedure where medicated collyrium (añjana dravya) is applied to the inner aspect of the eyelids or conjunctival sac for therapeutic and preventive purposes in eye diseases.

📌PROCEDURE
1. Patient is made to sit in a comfortable position.
2. Eyes are gently cleaned with lukewarm water.
3. Medicated añjana (collyrium) is applied with a clean rod or stick (añjana śalākā) on the inner side of the lower lid.
4. Patient is asked to close and open eyes repeatedly to spread the medicine evenly.
5. After effect appears (tearing, cleansing, soothing), excess medicine is wiped off.

📌PRECAUTIONS IN TREATMENT
🔸Use only fresh, properly prepared añjana dravya.
🔸Ensure sterilization of instruments (añjana śalākā).
🔸Avoid excessive dose or too frequent application.
🔸Patient should avoid exposure to sunlight, smoke, dust, and wind after procedure.
🔸Proper selection of drug according to doṣha predominance (Kapha, Pitta, Rakta) is essential.
