📌DEFINITION
Yoni Prakshalanamm is an Ayurvedic procedure of washing/cleansing the vaginal canal with medicated decoctions, oils, or other suitable liquids. It is mainly done to purify, pacify vitiated doṣhas, relieve local ailments, and maintain genital health.

🔸Yashtimadhu
🔸Guduchi
📌PROCEDURE
1. Patient is made to lie in lithotomy position.
2. Warm medicated decoction or oil is prepared as per condition.
3. With the help of a sterilized nozzle or tube, the liquid is gently introduced for washing the vaginal canal.
4. Repeated irrigation/cleansing is done until the decoction is finished.
5. Patient is cleaned and kept at rest for a short while.

📌MUST BE AVOIDED IN
🔸Pregnancy
🔸During menstruation
🔸Immediately after delivery (puerperal stage until advised)
🔸Severe systemic illness
🔸Ulcerated or bleeding lesions
📌PRECAUTIONS
🔸Always use sterile and lukewarm medicated decoction.
🔸Avoid excessive pressure while introducing liquid.
🔸Dose and drugs must be chosen as per doṣha predominance.
🔸Ensure patient comfort and privacy.
🔸Stop immediately if pain, bleeding, or discomfort occurs.
