📌DEFINITION
🔸Garbhiṇī Paricharyā refers to the systematic dietary (Āhāra) and lifestyle (Vihāra) regimen, along with medicines, followed during pregnancy month by month for proper growth of the fetus, maintenance of maternal health, easy delivery, and prevention of complications.
📌DRUGS USED
🔸1st month – Cold milk, Madhura rasa dravyas
🔸2nd month – Milk + Ghee
🔸3rd month – Milk + Honey + Ghee
🔸4th month – Navaneeta (butter) + Milk
🔸5th month – Ghee processed with Madhura dravyas (e.g., Shatavari, Yashtimadhu)
🔸6th month – Ghrita with Prithakparnyadi group
🔸7th month – Sastika Shali with milk + Ghee
🔸8th month – Yavagu with Gokshura kwatha + Ghrita
🔸9th month – Taila (anointing, basti with Anuvasana – Bala taila, Ksheera bala taila)

1. Monthly regimen of diet and medicine as above.
2. Pathya–Apathya instructions for balanced lifestyle.
3. Snehana & Swedana in later months (especially 8th–9th).
4. Basti (Anuvasana/Matra) in 9th month for facilitating normal delivery.

📌PRECAUTIONS
🔸Regimen must be month-wise and dosha-specific.
🔸Ensure balanced nutrition without overfeeding.
🔸Avoid medicines with garbhopaghātaka dravyas (abortifacient herbs like Bhallataka, Guggulu, etc.).
🔸Monitor mother’s digestion, bowel habits, blood pressure, and psychological state.
🔸Administer procedures like basti only under expert supervision in the 9th month.
