📌DEFINITION :
🔸SEKHAM is an external ocular therapy in which medicated liquids (decoctions, milk, ghee, herbal infusions) are poured in a continuous gentle stream over the closed or open eyes for a specified duration, mainly for treating eye disorders.

🔸Saindhava Lavana
📌PROCEDURE :
🔸Preparation – Select suitable medicated liquid based on disease and patient’s constitution. Warm or cool the liquid as per indication
🔸Positioning – Patient lies supine in a comfortable position.
🔸Application – The medicated liquid is poured in a thin, continuous stream from a specific height over the open or closed eyes for a fixed time.
🔸Post-care – Eyes are gently wiped, and medicated ghee or eye drops are applied if needed.

📌PRECAUTIONS :
🔸Maintain sterile and fresh medicated liquid.
🔸Temperature of liquid should be suitable (neither too hot nor too cold).
🔸Avoid sudden forceful pouring to prevent discomfort.
🔸Perform in a calm, dust-free environment.
🔸Monitor patient for burning, redness, or excessive watering.
