📌DEFINITION
🔸Kavala Grahaṇa is an Ayurvedic oral therapy in which medicated oil, ghee, or decoction is taken into the mouth in a smaller quantity (than Gandusha), moved around (gargled), and then spat out after a specific duration.
📌DRUGS USED
*Taila: Tila Taila, Eranda Taila, Narikela Taila
*Ghrita: Go Ghrita
*Kashaya: Triphala Kashaya, Yashtimadhu Kashaya, Musta Kashaya
*Others: Madhu, Usheera, Haridra
📌PROCEDURE
1. Select suitable medicine (oil, ghee, or decoction) based on disease and doshas.
2. Take a small quantity of the liquid (not filling the entire mouth).
3. Move it around gently in the mouth with the help of cheeks, tongue, and lips.
4. Continue until tears appear in eyes or nose discharges slightly (sign of proper time).
5. Spit out the liquid.
6. Wash mouth with lukewarm water.

📌PRECAUTIONS IN TREATMENT
🔸Medicine should not be too hot or too cold.
🔸Avoid swallowing the liquid.
🔸Duration should not be too short or too prolonged.
🔸Choose medicine according to dosha predominance.
🔸Perform in a calm environment, preferably in the morning.
