• 🔺TREATMENT : KESHA ABHYANGAM


    📌DEFINITION

    🔸Kesha Abhyangam is the procedure of massaging the scalp and hair with medicated oils. It nourishes the scalp, strengthens hair roots, promotes hair growth, prevents hair fall, and provides relaxation.


    📌DRUGS USED 

    🔸Neelibringadi taila

    🔸Kuntalakanti taila

    🔸Bhringamalakadi taila

    🔸Kayyunyadi taila

    🔸Triphaladi taila

    🔸Dhurdhurapatradi taila


    📌PROCEDURE

    1. Patient seated comfortably.

    2. Lukewarm medicated oil is applied over scalp.

    3. Gentle massage is done with fingertips in circular motions, especially over vertex, temporal region, and occiput.

    4. Duration: 15–30 minutes.

    5. Can be followed by swedana (mild fomentation) or hair wash with lukewarm water and herbal decoction/shampoo.

    📌MUST BE AVOIDED IN

    🔸Kapha-pradhana rogas with excessive oiliness on scalp

    🔸Acute fever

    🔸Cold, sinusitis with severe kapha symptoms

    🔸Recent head injuries

    🔸Scalp infections with pus


    📌PRECAUTIONS IN TREATMENT

    🔸Oil should be lukewarm, not hot.

    🔸Massage pressure should be gentle, not vigorous.

    🔸Avoid in immediately after meals.

    🔸Protect head from cold exposure after procedure.

    🔸Wash oil properly to avoid scalp clogging.

    🔸Taila should be selected according to prakriti and disease condition.
