📌DEFINITION

🔸Yoni Lepana is an Ayurvedic local treatment in which medicated paste (Lepa) prepared from herbal drugs is applied externally over the Yoni (female genital region) for therapeutic purposes. It is mainly indicated in Stree Roga.

📌DRUGS USED

🔸Haridra

🔸Daruharidra

🔸Lodhra

🔸Musta

🔸Manjishta

🔸Triphala

🔸Kumari (Aloe vera)

🔸Nimba

🔸Chandana

🔸Yashtimadhu

📌PROCEDURE

1. Patient should lie in supine position after proper cleansing of Yoni with lukewarm water/decoction.

2. Herbal drugs are made into a paste with suitable liquid media (ghṛita, taila, decoction, or water).

3. The paste is applied evenly over the external Yoni region.

4. Retain for prescribed duration (until semi-dry or absorbed).

5. Wash with lukewarm water or prescribed decoction.

6. Repeat as per physician’s advice.

📌MUST BE AVOIDED IN

🔸During menstruation

🔸During pregnancy (unless specially advised)

🔸Immediately after delivery (sutika kala)

🔸Severe acute infections with pus discharge

🔸Hypersensitivity to applied drugs

🔸Open wounds/ulcerated lesions in genital area

📌PRECAUTIONS

🔸Paste should not be too hot or too cold.

🔸Drugs must be freshly prepared and hygienically applied.

🔸Ensure proper cleansing before and after procedure.

🔸Avoid excessive rubbing or thick application causing discomfort.

🔸Perform under medical supervision in sensitive conditions.
